About Mrs Maasepp

I graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and First Class Honours. I have taught all grades ranging from K-6. This is my first year teaching at Amaroo School. Prior to coming to Amaroo, I was teaching in a variety of schools in Sydney NSW.

I moved to the ACT at the end of last year after getting married in September. In my spare time, I love going to the beach, spending time with my family and friends and finding lots of DIY projects.

My Teaching Philosophy

I am passionate about teaching.  Since being in kindergarten myself, I have always wanted to become a teacher. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to foster a life-long love of learning in children from such a young age. I believe that all students should be provided with learning opportunities that not only challenge them but enhance their imagination and creativity. All students should be provided with holistic learning opportunities that encourage qualities of fairness, integrity, cooperation, understanding, excellence and inclusion.
I believe that education thrives on a positive partnership between the classroom and the home environment. I have an open door policy and am always happy to discuss any concerns, questions or ideas you may have. I believe working together we can make this year a challenging and enjoyable experience for all.

A few of my favourite things

  • Season - Summer, I love spending summer days relaxing with a good book on the beach
  • Food - Summer fruits, and of course, chocolate!
  • Flowers - Baby's breath
  • Dessert - chocolate mousse or cheesecake
  • Authors - Shaun Tan, Dr. Seuss, Mem Fox
  • Travelling - I would love to visit Russia and travel on the Trans-siberian Railway

Dr. Seuss is one of my favourite children authors.
This quote can also be found in our classroom and is there

to remind all students how special they are being themselves!
